The joint work “‘Eine Farbe verlangt die andere’. Emil Noldes Malweise” edited by the three principal partners Stiftung Seebüll Ada und Emil Nolde, Doerner Institut and Hamburger Kunsthalle was published in March 2022 by Deutscher Kunstverlag. It offers readers a deep insight into Emil Nolde’s painting technique. For the first time, the impressive range of Nolde’s working methods and his struggle to find artistic solutions are revealed. The authors’ lucidly written and richly illustrated texts explain the close correlation between painting technique and pictorial effect.
